Accountability

"Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask.  Act! Action will delineate and define you."
- Thomas Jefferson

We are facing a serious epidemic.  Everyday this problem seems to not only grow, and develop more powerful than ever before, but it shows no sign of stopping.  It places us, our friends, our family, and our country directly in the line of fire.  We, who choose not to succumb to this "trend," will be at the forefront of a revolution.  The pioneers of finding fitness.  The great men and women of history who will fight for their right to make their dreams a reality!

This epidemic is quite simply; lack of accountability.

Accountability is one of the most critical elements in beginning the journey towards finding fitness.  What is accountability? Why ever strive to become something greater? Why care? These questions are a large part of the reason we continue to see widespread increases in obesity rates, continuously declining work environments, company bail outs, and a generation of people who have forgotten that this nation was founded on the principle of DOING!

Holding yourself accountable to your fitness goals is a great way to initiate and develop accountability.  First write down everything you are going to do, and keep it in plain sight.  Post one in your office, one on your fridge, one in your car, and one on the TV screen, if thats what it takes.  Tell people your goals, and what  you are trying to do.  This way, you not only have yourself, you have friends, family, and co-workers there to help you keep accountability alive and prospering.   Be sure to keep goals feasible, but also some that seem virtually impossible.  This will give you something to continuously strive for during the lifelong process of finding fitness.

Begin to recapture this lost characteristic.  Become a mentor, and idol to all those that surround you.  We need to remember, it is accountability that makes us wake up every morning to go to work.  It is accountability that has us behave in a civil fashion, and treat others with kindness.  It is accountability that sets your alarm for 5 am to workout.  It is accountability that drives us towards success.  In a world full of obesity, anger, violence, and declining work ethic, it is clear that accountability has been all but forgotten.

If you are reading this, it is time you lead from the front and begin to make a change.  Invest yourself in finding fitness, hold yourself accountable, and teach others to do the same.  This trickle down effect will shortly become the new trend.  Soon you will see this trend become the widespread epidemic of accountability!

Go out and do something right now. I want this to serve as the spark that ignites your flame.  It is time to make a change.  Earn this day.  Begin the journey towards finding fitness, and hold yourself accountable.  It is time to make a change.

The time is NOW!
